Is Maslow’s Pyramid the same thing as the Heirarchy of Needs, or is it intended to convey something else? I’ve not heard of it referred to as a pyramid before.

Is Maslow’s Pyramid the same thing as the Heirarchy of Needs, or is it intended to convey something else? I’ve not heard of it referred to as a pyramid before. Or is the concern here more that this (or hierarchies in general) should not be conveyed via pyramidal structures?
