You're a niche. But if linux fixes the 10^10^10^10 different distros problem and gets an awesome desktop environment that large companies can confidently program against knowing that all linux users will be covered, then everything else will pretty much disappear overnight.
- g42gregory 4y agoI ran Ubuntu desktop as a server with NVIDIA GPUs, that sits next to my desk. I access it with my MacBook Pro, mostly through PyCharm or CLion remote runtimes, so nothing runs on my Mac. The latency is single ms, so you don’t feel it at all. I get the benefits of nice Mac UI and standard Linux server runtimes for both Python and C++.
