Free mobility of labor is being hindered by these outdated laws. Either the state should harmonize taxation and figure this out between themselves or companies who do WFH to people living in other states should be considered as hiring independent contractors always. That the federal government can’t or won’t step in and help people in the USA out of this morass is shameful. That’s my value judgment.
