Kind of reminds me of Hyrum's Law [1]
And the comments elsewhere on this thread should remind us all that "a lot can happen in forever"... My interpretation: eventually, everything will be deprecated. There may be some web sites (github.com, for example) that are "too big" (or "too important") to fail or disappear; but they eventually will.

- jrochkind1 4y agoIt might remind us hyrum's law, but in this case weren't the people who are not wanting it to go away -- using it as intended? I feel like there's a different "law" here, involving persistence and memory and history and recordability on the internet -- people want it, but it doesn't come for free, and there isn't necessarily anyone with a profit motive or business plan to make it happen.
