My only personal experience with this term was FOCUS, which in the hands of Information Builders got wielded as a marketing term and felt kind of like saying it was "a space age language" (new and modern! ... In the 70s).
Not sure if anyone out there has experience and can change my view, but the language seemed a bit...wildly rogue, opinionated, idiosyncratic, cavalier, and I avoided it as best as I could at that client.
- CWuestefeld 4y agoLong ago, as a summer intern, I had some brief exposure to FOCUS. As best I can recall, I found the environment pretty cool. But I was constantly stymied by having to use an IBM 3270 terminal, which insists that Return and Enter are different things, and Enter is in the wrong place.
