I wouldn’t care about this change if App Store developers could host apps outside of the store. It would be fine if “old” versions of an app could only be found on a companies website instead of being given “free” advertising through the store. However since this isn’t true, then I feel this change is unfair. It’s unfair to developers because of the reasons in the article. It’s unfair to customers because suddenly their older phones are neutered by having less apps. It’s a good example of why it’s not good to have a single company dictate the use of a platform.
