I thought it was Infinite Jest.

As someone who loves Infinite Jest and does think it's the best novel of our generation, I was pretty much just as enthralled and entertained by the Tim Tebow Chronicles. Honestly, there are also some similarities in the dreamlike alternate-present worldbuilding (the MIT building in IJ would be right at home in TTC). I'd say it's definitely worth a read–it's also much shorter than IJ!
