DHS Creating Disinformation Governance Board Led by Information Warfare Expert
- tomohawk 5y agoNina Jankowicz aught to be an expert on disinformation, as she has employed it for partisan political purposes. She was one of the 'experts' who made the claim that the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation, without a shred of evidence to support that assertion. Fox running the henhouse.
- jcadam 5y agoWell, they can't just give her the title of "Director of Internecine Information Warfare" now can they?
- anamax 5y agoWho had Ministry of Truth on their 2022 bingo card?
- mostertoaster 5y agoSee when one side says your side is spreading disinformation, all we are really saying is your side’s propaganda’s isn’t as good as our sides propaganda.
- jfengel 5y agoIt's true. Because the side that's spreading true propaganda has one hand tied behind its back. True propaganda is usually a lot less interesting than false propaganda, and nearly always much less definitive. True propaganda has to include all kinds of caveats and limitations, and often is rather prosaic and slow-moving. False propaganda gets to let its imagination run wild. True propaganda does have the advantage of being, well, true. A lot of people like truth, because it's got a lot of uses. But a lot of other people enjoy falsehoods, especially when they affirm their biases and make them feel smart and strong. So it's not surprising that false propaganda gets the negative name "disinformation". One way to spot it is that proponents of disinformation like to say things like "There is no such thing as the truth, and therefore my thing deserves equal or greater attention than yours." And it often achieves that, since truth is so boring and disinformation so exciting.
- mostertoaster 5y agoSounds like you might’ve believed some propaganda from your side.
- uvnq 5y agoOr it's just true. Sometimes things sides say are true.
