- MilnerRoute 5y agoIn this case that "original source" was audio-only -- a 15-minute video. I thought there was something unique and useful in the typed-out summation of the whole 15 minutes.
- McLaren_Ferrari 5y agoBill Gates should resign, re-name and re-brand the foundation and bring in a trustee who can sell this stuff to the public. It has to be a guy who can build a cult of personality around him. The stuff that the Gates Foundation is doing is unprecedented but they should separate the part where Gates deploys his own money for health (which he should oversee), and the part where political change on a global basis has to be implemented such as the one proposed in this video. "The GERM team would work under the WHO" . Okay good luck trying to convince people to accept that, and especially with Gates' subzero stage presence and charisma. All of the non-grant type stuff should be sold to the public by a charismatic guy with a huge cult of personality around him, a skilled politician because this is essentially politics . It's an arms race of cults out there, nice initiatives are getting eaten alive by those who scream and indoctrinate people the most, hence nice initiatives should stop playing nice and start going on the attack.
- sharken 5y agoAt the rate of about one epidemic every hundred years or so, time and money would be better spent coming up with solutions for the environment. Cement with less of a CO2 footprint would be one example. https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-46455844 https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-46455844
