I'm with you. I run 10.04 LTS on my home machine. I recently took 11.10 for a test-drive, and as a power user Unity just doesn't meet my needs. As a user, nothing about Gnome was broken for me. But in switching to Unity, now Ubuntu feels a lot less useful to me.
