The other challenge with hiring someone who has done "it", is they may not want to do it again, especially in startup contexts. "Find me someone who has scaled the infrastructure of a fintech startup from Y to Z". Some people may enjoy the same challenge again, but lots may want some variation (eg different company stage, different industry, different scale).
- gkop 5y agoSpeaking personally, I can’t do It again, if It represents an apex accomplishment of mine. My apex accomplishments, I was able to do, only because of a special confluence of factors, never to be repeated. Fortunately, this forces me to seek new apex accomplishments, which keeps things interesting and growthful.
