Maybe not the exact same, but in 2009 I bought a house in the Bay Area and got an $8,000 tax credit because the “American dream was dead.” Needless to say the house has significantly increased and I would have purchased without the credit (credit couldn’t be used towards the purchase anyway). Long story short, this too shall pass, likely larger than previously imagined.
