My naive self thinks his hubris has a lot to do with it. I mean if I were to speculate I think it's because he thinks he can do a 10x better job at running it if he were in charge of the whole show (esp after the recent shitshows by twitter like the bitcoin hack where his own account has hacked too). Twitter has a lot of problems, like rampant bots, which have remained unaddressed for a very very long time and it can certainly do a lot better. And maybe he think he is the one who can do it. Maybe this whole thing can be explained by occam's razor afterall.
