My wife is a NICU nurse at a major NICU... she has worked there four years and is almost at her maximum pay, outside of COL increases, so right now she makes around $64k a year before tax/etc.. The travel nurses make significantly more and now that she has basically hit her cap (after just four years) I've been trying to convince her to move to a different unit or get a different job
