Hahah that's amazing. My meter is one of the blinking ones yeah. I'm not sure if I have the patience to add sensors though. One interesting aspect of the meters is I think they talk over zigbee protocol, but I'm not sure how to tap into that. I think the in-home display uses it though to display "real time usage". The API I use gives 30m resolution which seems ok enough.
