Title makes it seem like foul play, but I personally think not given the tumultuous history of the man being discussed (rip).
Eg: There was a similar HN post when the same man went missing (almost exactly one year ago to the date):

- frereubu 4y agoI also think people have a tendency to underestimate the massive psychological pressure that comes from being a whistleblower in cases like this that involve governments and large, powerful organisations like Deutsche Bank.
