- shkkmo 4y agoIt wasn't a hostile takeover then either. Making an offer to a board is not a "hostile takeover attempt", trying to buy 51% of the outstanding shares (without approval of the board or shareholders) is a hostile takeover. Zero responsible reporting called this a hostile takeover. The closest you can come is journalists who speculated that a hostile takeover might be attempted if the offer to the board were rejected. There is nothing beyond speculation to show that this was ever a possibility.
