Ask HN: Do you get stuck in Flutter dependency hell? How do you deal?

Do you run into big problems trying to upgrade package versions or add newer packages. I frequently get stuck with a bunch of incompatible dependencies. This has taken the joy out of Flutter and caused me to shelve my hobby projects. Is this a me problem or are there solutions I'm not aware of.

In most languages there seem to be some packages that cause most of the trouble. If you can control those you can control the rest.
