It's time for Apple to bring back Safari for Windows
- orionblastar 4y agoI agree, I miss it.
- Doctor_Fegg 4y agohttps://schepp.dev/posts/running-webkit-on-windows/ https://schepp.dev/posts/running-webkit-on-windows/ (linked in the article) suggests that it wouldn’t be _too_ hard for someone to build a WebKit-based browser for Windows. The engine still builds on Windows; you’d need to patch in video codecs somehow, but otherwise everything works other than a handful of obscure fripperies.
- jack-bodine 4y agoIn my opinion, there are enough alternative web browsers available and no substantial reason to bring Safari to windows. Most of the safari specific features that I can think of (ex. syncing tabs between iCloud devices) are things that benefit people already invested in the apple ecosystem and are likely mac users anyways.
- Kye 4y agoI use Windows on the desktop and iOS for mobile for the same reason: they work best for what I use each form factor for. I want tabs to sync between them, but I don't see why they can't do that with the existing sync extension for other browsers. I get my Firefox bookmarks on my phone. Why not tabs through the same method?

- KiDD 4y agoiCloud Keychain for Chrome Extension blows hard. I would much rather have Safari on Windows!
