Hey HN. I built this app really for myself, as an American living in France to help learn a new measurement system. The app is really simple, I built the initial version in a day using React Native, and just spent a few extra days fixing some bugs here and there.
Let me know if you find problems or have any feedback. Otherwise, enjoy if it's useful for you!
- jaclaz 5y agoA few nitpicks. In the screenshots there is something off. San Francisco: Sunrise 16:23/Sunset:1:57 Usually times are given in local "target" time, i.,e. sun tends to rise early in the morning and set late in the afternoon, this even if accurate in current location time seems "strange". London: Sunrise 09:5 Is that 9:50 or 9:05? Pressure is in hPa only (would that be inches of mercury in imperial?) Also I believe that for many of the UK/US people using the 24h clock would seem "foreign" (military time?).
- rain2o 5y agoThanks for the notes. I've fixed most of those in the app but forgot to update the screenshots. As for the odd times for San Fran, that is strange I completely overlooked it. I'll check that out. For the 24 hour clock, I tried to show both 12 and 24 hour for this reason. Maybe I forgot to update the screenshots for this too. I just need to redo those screenshots I suppose. Thanks!
