Lost Charlotte Brontë Manuscript Sells for $1.25M
- isaacimagine 5y agoAny place where the poems are publicly published?
- cenazoic 5y ago“The titles of the poems in the tiny book have long been known thanks to Brontë’s personal catalog of her works (among them “The Beauty of Nature,” “Song of an Exile,” and “On Seeing the Ruins of the Tower of Babel”). But the poems have never even been summarized, let alone published. It remains to be seen if the future buyer will decide to make its contents public.”
- ordersofmag 5y agoLooks like it was bought by a museum that intends to digitize and make it public https://www.bronte.org.uk/whats-on/news/248/bronte-parsonage-museum-to-acquire-charlotte-brontes-a-book-of-ryhmes https://www.bronte.org.uk/whats-on/news/248/bronte-parsonage...
- zwieback 5y agoSeems too cheap, actually. Charlotte is the best of the three, imo.
- dariusj18 5y agoThat title page gives me empathic cringe to think of how she'd feel about this.
- MikeDelta 5y agoWonder what an NFT of her work would have sold for.
