Not sure how shorting Tesla stock creates value. Yes, Danny Hillis demonstrated how introducing parasites can drive an evolutionary algorithm past a relative maxima [1]. Is Tesla at a relative maxima, or still scaling? Moreover, why is Gates wasting his time as a parasite?

- Vladimof 4y agoBecause you have a short doesn't mean that you don't also have a positive position? Sell high and buy low at the same time
- musesum 4y ago> Sell high and buy low at the same time Maybe there is a damping function in that. All I've read is the rumored short. Either way, playing a zero-sum game still seems at odds with value creation. Blue shift versus red shift mindset. Based on past value creation, with MSFT and a crucial investment in Apple, Gates shorting a company seems out of character.

- musesum 4y agoYes. I played that game for a while: shifting value around. Making value is more satisfying. No judgement; merely personal preference.
