- zeristor 5y agoPerhaps I’m mistaken, but I can see from the paper that it was funded by Cancer Research UK. A large charity that is funded by lots of people. Cancer Research UK has a policy of “expecting” and “encouraging” such papers are published openly: https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/funding-for-researchers/applying-for-funding/policies-that-affect-your-grant/policy-on-open-access https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/funding-for-researchers/app... Given that it is a charity I’m quite aghast that open publishing wasn’t mandated. The research looks interesting, but given it’s funded by a charity with people opting in to share their DNA data for the greater good it just seems wrong.
