Being expert in male/female statistics, the EU is generally only 4% far from USA gender statistics, and closing in on a 10-year delay. The only difference between USA and EU is that it is exaggerated in the media, while the trends which happen in EU have already been experienced in USA so people have already had time to get used to it, therefore news are less sensationalist. In other words, your impression that EU culture, statistics or law are different from USA is not verifiable in measurements. I agree however, that we think we are immune to USA problems when we live in EU.
