Headline is rather hyperbolic. The challenge in replacing jet fuel is that on energy density (by volume and weight) jet fuel is extremely high compared to just about anything else. Also, shedding weight in flight is key to long range travel to make the engineering work. That perpetually limits what’s possible with anything powered by batteries. Until those two problems are solved we’re not going to see anything beyond short range travel switching off jet fuel.
