Why ask here instead of on a chess forum? HN has collective wisdom about many things, but the stuff you are asking is well-trod ground among chess organizers.

Why ask here instead of on a chess forum? HN has collective wisdom about many things, but the stuff you are asking is well-trod ground among chess organizers. So you should go where they are. r/chess on reddit is probably a good place to start. The USCF forums might be another. The latter are held in some disrepute in certain circles, but that is mostly due to chess politics rather than tournament running probs per se.
- tahoslav 5y agoUnfortunately, I've had some unintelligent conversations on other forums and on reddit. That's why I came to hacker news to gain insight.
- throwaway81523 5y agoMaybe try chess.com if you haven't, or talk to some TD's who have run online tournaments. HN just doesn't seem like a likely place to find them. There are a lot of smart people here who think they can give wise advice from pure thought, but it is better to turn to actual experience for something like this. Hmm, maybe chess24? https://chess24.com/en/community https://chess24.com/en/community They are involved with a lot of online events.
