This is an indictment of the medical industry. With a timely diagnosis, this can mostly be set right with a gluten-free, low-fiber diet w/ occasional intermittent fasting (medical terminology being... bowel rest).
Letting it progress to the point where a young girl is getting a stoma bag is an absolute disaster. Glamorizing it on instagram is also a disaster. Would be better to shout the warning signs from the rooftops, so others can avoid the same fate. An ounce of prevention...

- georgia_peach 5y agoProblem with that sarcasm being that she did go outside to the doctor(s), and none of them could be bothered to competently do their jobs. Maybe if she were a covid shut-in, she'd have hit wikipedia, figured out the problem, treated it before losing a chunk of her colon--and all would be well! And we're supposed to line-up for the 3rd/4th jab coming from some assholes who--even with all of the technology we have, and all of the schooling they've had--can't properly diagnose colitis? Sometimes I think they "mixed-up" the caduceus and the asclepius on purpose.
