Man who never wanted to ride in fighter jet accidentally ejects himself
- brocha 4y agoI remember a thread a bit back about how violent the ejection process is and most of the time it results in serious injury. Very lucky for the old guy (and pilot) to remain relatively unscathed
- Someone 4y agohttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ejection_seat#Pilot_safety https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ejection_seat#Pilot_safety: “Compression fractures of vertebrae are a recurrent side effect of ejection.” You literally can get centimeters shorter by an ejection. I also read, but cannot find it, that being ejected even once can mean instant retirement from a combat fighter job because the risk of a second ejection is too high.
- ss108 4y agoFirst the birthday thing and now this. Next up is some company that makes someone fight a bear when they retire.
