eBook service Hoopla brings anti-vax, and pro-LGBTQ conversion books
- PraetorianGourd 4y agoFine. We don't burn books. A free, liberal society allows these ideas to be expressed and judged accordingly. Dislike how many people buy into it? Fund education, fund civics. Don't ban information.
- asojfdowgh 4y ago> “Libraries should be trusted hubs for quality information, and these companies are undermining the library’s traditional role in the information landscape,” I never viewed libraries as that, I always thought more that they were repositories of humanity, hence why they offer additional things like music, software, etc And I wonder how many religious texts they have, no doubt recommending worse than conversion nevermind any of that, challenging our views is an important aspect of how we grow mentally, to remove that is just... damaging to the next generation
- cato_the_elder 4y agoYeah, how outrageous, just like your local public library!
