Many people seem to believe the medical profession is nearly perfect. This belief is not new, for thousands of years medical professionals have refused to countenance criticism. I personally believe much of our medical science we have today is faulty and our theories can be greatly improved. I would like to see many more challenges to the status quo and new treatments made available. Many of these will be scams or even harmful, but some of them will revolutionize medical care in a positive way.
Drop medical regulations, and open up medical innovation.

Personally I'm against pharmaceutical industries fleecing people with rare diseases for which no current interventions currently exist. Medical regulations didn't come about in a vacuum—absent these we'd have many more examples like the Tuskegee syphilis study. I'm fine with people critiquing the medical industry. Most people doing so are coming from a place of emotion, though. This anti-intellectualism in the US has always been bad but it seems now society is willing to turn the dial back on germ theory, vaccines, antibiotics, etc. People can innovate without breaking things, I know suggesting such to an audience primarily composed of software engineers is taboo. However it is definitely possible to move at a decent pace and not break shit when you're working with sick human beings.
