Perhaps I'll reach out to you for assistance the next time someone suggests to myself or a family member that they're trans simply because they engaged in an activity that broke gendered stereotypes. Maybe we'll both learn something!
- woodruffw 5y agoI don't understand the relevance of someone offering you unsolicited opinions about your gender. The fact that they may or may not be wrong about both you and what it means to be trans doesn't have any particular bearing on whether transgenderedness itself is fundamentally "essentialist" in its performance of gender. Which it isn't.
