It's a News organization. It is neither a representative or an official mouthpiece for 'The west'.
Guardian is not finger pointing as well, It's doing it's job, which is reporting the events.
And the criticism is absolutely valid.
This deflection and tangential remarks are not suitable for Hacker News.

- naruvimama 4y agoIt is one of several patterns I have just noticed in the past couple of weeks US made a human rights comment. Germany media made a big deal about the oil purchase, trying to deflect attention from their own increased purchase. And as a former colonialist I couldn't expect the UK not come up with it's own act. Collective guilt works both ways especially among democratic countries of which India is thr largest and US the oldest.
