Interesting - it’s completely anecdotal but several people I know have cancelled due to lack of interesting content.
And when people get invested in a show, Netflix cancels the show in year 2 or 3 before costs increase to retain talent.
I’m sure tightening spending will help with EPS but wallstreet is obsessed with growth and for Netflix that means subscribers.
- uejfiweun 4y agoThere was a golden age in the early 2010s when Netflix was pretty much the only streaming platform, and they had literally everything. Any movie you'd want, any tv show you'd want... it was the best. I think they've really been coasting from that golden era ever since, even as competitors line up to take a slice of their pie. Focusing on content isn't going to cut it for them... they need to really revolutionize the field again to stay afloat, like they did earlier with streaming.
