- vba616 4y agoDo the policies that people are worrying about have anything to do with what people can study, what books are in the library, or what people can write about? I'm not convinced that restrictions on speech in class are really silencing something important. Edit: On clicking through, the policy appears to relate only to "Hostile Environment Harassment or Quid Pro Quo Harassment", which sound much the same as the concepts everywhere else. So either there's something I'm missing or making a federal case about free speech is loony. https://reason.com/volokh/2022/04/21/eleventh-circuit-strikes-down-univ-of-central-floridas-discriminatory-harassment-speech-code/ https://reason.com/volokh/2022/04/21/eleventh-circuit-strike... This is a pretty good example of how I was disillusioned from thinking Volokh or Reason were in fact reasonable.
