Attaching the box to a metal pole isn't the problem. There are other problems such as H&S, expected demand (as the boxes have limited amounts of ports) and pole capacity in general. Poles can only have a certain amount of wire loading. Those are not always straight forward things to consider when put all together and forward planning is also needed.
