Ask HN: Recommend startups/events to visit in Silicon Valley

I'm coming to Silicon Valley for the first time for 2-3 weeks at the end of this month. I want to go around meeting interesting people at startups and events in the day, and work on my startup at night. Apart from Startup School, what other good events should I attend? If you have a startup, can I come and visit you? Thanks! PS I could also do with some help with accommodation (broke solo founder here :-). So offers for couches welcome!
