Russia’s ‘Satan 2’ missile changes little for U.S., scholars say
- nabla9 5y agoSatan 2 = RS-28 Sarmat Interesting historical fact: Before SpaceX, around 2001, Elon Musk attempted to buy few retrofitted Satan ICBM's (Dnepr) from Russia for his “Life to Mars” company. They wanted to launch very small payload to Mars. Soon after the attempt failed he started SpaceX R-36 (SS-18 Satan) and the upgrade Sarmat is a huge ICBM/medium lift vehicle: 4500 kg into LEO, 2.300 kg to GTO, 550 kg to TLI. It could nuke the Moon or go above any mid-course defense system.
