There is always an underlying assumption that making something scalable and making something quickly are mutually exclusive. As tools and libraries get better, I hope these two things can exist together. Scalable things should be able to be written just as quickly as anything else. Take DynamoDB as an example. Very quick to set up and use. Also very scalable.
