Inflation is worse than reported: Elon Musk
- WheelsAtLarge 5y agoHe's seeing a subset of items that are increasing in price. When inflations is measured the number of items is much larger so the inflation number reported will likely be smaller. I think his statement should be," inflation is much higher for the items we use in our cars"
- xedrac 5y agoThere could be factors other than inflation affecting the cost of the parts he's mentioning, but in my purely anecdotal evidence, I have to agree with him. The price increases I have witnessed in many sectors have been far greater than 8-10 percent. This could all come back to oil I suppose, since it's so fundamental in the production of nearly everything.
- oneoff786 5y agoInflation is generally measured at the consumer consumption level prices right? It seems likely to me that businesses don’t roll out higher prices to consumers as quickly as a B2B vendor would. Could just be a delayed effect
- sschueller 5y agoSo is he going to raise everyones wage by +8%? I highly doubt it but for that we have the Tesla Union which will push for equalisation. /s
