When I was around 10 years old on Holiday overseas with my parents in Australia, my Mum tasked me with fetching cigarettes and milk from the convenience store one street over. I managed to somehow fuck up the straight line trip home, and returned nearly 2 hours later to my mother in hysterics on the phone to the police. I think that was the end of my independence and parent's faith in me.
