Please keep in mind that the kids who didn't survive because of a horrific accident are not here to convey their stories. I've never been a fan of stories from people who present "anecdotal evidence as ideal solutions". As a parent, I do think children need some level of autonomy, but this doesn't need to be an all-or-nothing issue. Parents can apply various degrees in various situations.
