Dell XPS 13 with Ubuntu is a lower cost alternative to Purism 14 and you get some possibly totally false mental guarantees about quality and linux integration via the Dell base. The touchpad, at least on my model from a few years back, was horribly sensitive to palm touches. There were some config changes I made that may or may not have done anything, and I don't notice it anymore but definitely type a bit differently. The other aspect is a 13'' screen is a bit small for dev work. A purism is next on my list fwiw.
