I used to dig a tunnel in our parents backyard. Don’t know how deep it got but as a kid I could go pretty far back. Pretty sure my goal was to reach our neighbor across the street. It was definitely a death trap. It was a large dirt hole dug deep into a hill. I was too young to even think of reenforcing it, let alone have a budget to do so. In the end my parents finally decided my tunnel was a death trap and we had to plug it up. Thinking back I’m amazed it didn’t collapse on me. Oh well… cheating death is just part of growing up.
