I love my pixel 5a. It is an amazing phone for the money, and probably the best cheap phone you can get with a 3.5mm jack.
But intermittently I am having weird issues. Some dropped calls (I think), but also some input problems with the screen locking for 2s whenever I accidentally activate the assistant.
Worst of all is that it is incompatible with all 3.5mm headphones, seemingly by design. The volume up button opens the Google assistant or does nothing depending on whether the assistant is active. The problem is, according to the support, that they don't recommend 3.5mm headphones, which is probably the dumbest shit I have ever heard considering the phone has a 3.5mm jack.
Someone made the decision to break every headphone with small control unit on the market and it got a green light. That stuff scares me. What will break next?
