- raymondh 5y agoThank you, this gives a lot of insight into what is going on. This one tells the whole story: https://github.com/github/dmca/blob/ea3736a0c4c9574e0c8cea06db41cc4ee01c7e83/2021/11/2021-11-30-hackerrank-counternotice.md https://github.com/github/dmca/blob/ea3736a0c4c9574e0c8cea06...
- danamit 5y agoWon't type the HR word, this page might get DMCA'd.
- Liquid_Fire 5y agoAnd yet the "repo" (seems to be a Gist) referred to in this couternotice is still down.
- perihelions 5y agoI think it did come back up, and then went down again: https://github.com/github/dmca/search?q=TheRayTracer https://github.com/github/dmca/search?q=TheRayTracer HackerRank/WorthIT didn't dispute the counternotice (AFAICT), but instead they re-filed the same DMCA notice again, four months later. - gspr 5y agoThis shows it pretty unequivocally: HackerRank are nothing but scoundrels. The CEO playing nice in this thread is laughable.
- remram 5y agoAbsolutely. Since they are claiming copyright infringement on random stuff they didn't write, how many things are going to get caught and not have the reputation of SymPy?
