I think “allowlist” is oppressive and humiliating so can you please stop using it altogether? It’s all about demonstrating that you have the social power to control other people’s words, even when (perhaps especially when) your justification for doing so is completely and obviously nonsensical to everyone involved. I think it qualifies as an oppressive form of social violence. If you at all cared about the lived experienced of the folks you’re oppressing, you’d stop using it.
