Did the study measure revealed opinions, or does it just measure stated opinions? I would expect many participants, upon hearing that they were paid to watch CNN, would become primed to think that the study creators are expecting to see less-conservative answers, and some of them would answer less-conservatively than they actually believe. The effect doesn’t sound very large, in any event.
