In hindsight they were sort of wrong, there are some unusual cases where it is airborne. In reality covid is nearly entirely spread from something you touched.
The problem is that it was then considered misinformation and censored. Everyone was forced to wear masks for no reason at all. If you tried to simply repeat what the WHO said... you would be censored.
Now that we are doing away with harmful masks its remarkable to see everyone opposing it.
- AuthorizedCust 5y agoFALSE! COVID is almost impossible to spread through touch (fomites). Here's a CDC brief from about a year after the WHO tweet you shared: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/more/science-and-research/surface-transmission.html https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/more/science-and-r.... Important: "each contact with a contaminated surface has less than a 1 in 10,000 chance of causing an infection"
- incomingpain 5y ago>FALSE! COVID is almost impossible to spread through touch (fomites). Yes I agree COVID became political and they started censoring 'misinformation' and now we can't seem to discuss it.
- AuthorizedCust 5y agoCan you provide an example of where factual information has been censored?
- incomingpain 5y ago>Can you provide an example of where factual information has been censored? I love the way you worded this. There's a trivial example of covid censorship being the lab leak story. But I guess you'll retort that it's not factual.
- AuthorizedCust 5y agoI don't understand your point. The lab-leak theory is richly covered in the press and in my Facebook activities. A certainty that the lab-leak theory is true is the fake news. It is far from true. It is merely a theory whose odds become longer by the month.
- incomingpain 5y ago>The lab-leak theory is richly covered in the press and in my Facebook activities. You mean the lab-leak conspiracy theory. https://www.forbes.com/sites/startswithabang/2021/06/03/the-wuhan-lab-leak-hypothesis-is-a-conspiracy-theory-not-science/?sh=77709746dd8c https://www.forbes.com/sites/startswithabang/2021/06/03/the-... Twitter bans you if you bring up the lab leak conspiracy theory. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/twitter-bans-zero-hedge-coronavirus-conspiracy-theory/ https://www.cbsnews.com/news/twitter-bans-zero-hedge-coronav... >A certainty that the lab-leak theory is true is the fake news. It is far from true. It is merely a theory whose odds become longer by the month. Sorry, my mistake. Not conspiracy theory. It's fake news. Look at this fake news publication 'the nypost' aren't the same same ones who published fake news about a hunter biden laptop? https://nypost.com/2021/05/19/lab-leak-theory-no-longer-fake-news-and-other-commentary/ https://nypost.com/2021/05/19/lab-leak-theory-no-longer-fake... I guess that your 'rich coverage' is explaining how this conspiracy theory... sorry... fake news is so wrong?
- AuthorizedCust 5y agoYour example of a Twitter ban is from 26 months ago and is over a conspiracy theory, written up in a publication known for being a prolific source of fake news, about a specific scientist. That was and still is false. The original argument put differently: -lab-leak theory <- not fake news; it is a theory and circulates among other theories of COVID's origin -lab-leak theory is true <- fake news; not only is it far from proven, its odds get worse each month as we find out more
- JaceLightning 5y agoHunter laptop story
- AuthorizedCust 5y agoTrue, although the topic at hand is COVID, so that is my frame of reference for my comment.
- moistly 5y ago> In reality covid is nearly entirely spread from something you touched. It seems all you do on HN is run around spreading outright lies.
- incomingpain 5y ago>It seems all you do on HN is run around spreading outright lies. It would seem you are doing a great duty in following me around HN to ensure I cannot spread lies. In reference to this current lie. I did reference the world health org. I guess I have nothing to rebuttal against your allegation that the WHO is lying.
- moistly 5y agoNot following you around, dude, just seeing lies being told in the threads that catch my attention and looking at the username to note that, oh hey, it’s you again. If you don’t want your username associated with lying, well, it’s up to you to quit lying.
