- jleyank 4y ago$GOD is both an environmental variable, set upon system initialization and the value contained in the $GOD environmental variable. It is the Alpha and Omega, set first upon startup and cleared last upon shutdown. Unfortunately, it's up to the user's shell to interpret it.
