Thought New Orleans would be near the top of the list. It's sandwiched between Lake Pontchartrain and the Gulf of Mexico. Additionally, there are other large thunderstorm producing lakes nearby like Lake Salvador. It is exceedingly odd out that way when you go more than 2 weeks without rainfall.
